Cirque View Homestead

Description

Property may be rented once in any 31-day period.

This contemporary home with six bedroom suites, a professional grade kitchen, and a creek flowing through its backyard is one of the most graciously designed and decorated in the valley. In the exclusive Shooting Star subdivision, a short distance from the base area of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Cirque View Homestead—so named because a wall of windows in the great room frames the popular Cirque black diamond ski run at JHMR—looks fresh from the pages of Architectural Digest. (Christopher Lee of Jackson-based firm Design Associates Architects designed the home while KAM Designs, a firm with offices in San Francisco, Scottsdale, and Jackson Hole, did the interior design.) Also, a terrace just feet from the creek running through the backyard (a tributary of Fish Creek) has an outdoor sofa, fire pit, hot tub, gas grill, and dining table for ten.

Don’t worry that it's curated and well-considered design means Cirque View Homestead isn’t cozy and comfortable. You can’t have great design without a space being easy to live in. And “easy” is one of the best words to describe life at Cirque View Homestead. A couple of others include “comfortable” and “relaxing.”

You’ll pick up on all of these from the moment you walk into the lodge’s foyer, which opens into a grand-but-understated great room/kitchen/dining area. Here, there are soaring cathedral ceilings supported by reclaimed beams and accented by modern pendants, a wood-burning fireplace with a stone surround that stretches to the ceiling, comfortable couches and chairs, and a built-in bench beneath the windows that frame the Cirque. Two sets of French doors—one at either end of the great room—open to the outside patio.

The great room flows right into the open kitchen and dining area, pausing only at an intimate bar area tucked between the two spaces. In the kitchen, a custom, wall-mounted wine “cellar” is beautiful in both form and function.

The north wing of the ground floor is dedicated to entertainment. Adjacent to the great room is a home theater with stadium seating (on cozy couches) for more than 10 people. Down a hallway from this room is a game room with both card and billiard tables. There is also a wet bar in this room and a private entrance from the front. Continuing through the game room is one of the three first-floor suites, all of which have a king size bed.

In the first floor’s south wing are the primary suite and another guest bedroom. The former has a gas fireplace, a deep soaking tub, and a walk-in marble shower with an oversized, built-in rain feature.

Gorgeous white maple slab stairs lead to a second-floor landing with a sitting area and workspace. Three bedroom suites are on this floor: one has two twin beds; a second is a bunk room with three twin beds and one full bed; the third has one king-size bed.

Grand Teton National Park is about two miles from Cirque View Homestead. Both the Town of Jackson and the community of Wilson are a 20-minute drive. The restaurants, shops, and spas of Teton Village are a 15-minute walk or short shuttle ride away.
